Can I view / download / delete my contact form entries?

If Primary Image built your website and it includes a contact form, we’ll normally save all contact form entries into a database by default.

To access these entries:

  1. Go to the “Forms” menu in your website editor.
  2. You’ll see a list of forms.
  3. Find the form you want to download, then click on the corresponding number under the “Entries” column:
  4. On the next screen, you’ll see a list of entries, and you can click into each entry to view the individual message.
  5. Alternatively, on the list of entries, you can click the “Download CSV” button to export the entries into a spreadsheet.

We recommend checking your online message database every so often. In rare situations a contact form message may not arrive in your inbox, for example if your email provider is experiencing server issues or if your email provider classes the message as spam and blocks the message arriving.

Deleting contact form data:

From time to time, you may wish to delete old contact form entries from your website, once they’re no longer needed. This is good practice for complying with data protection guidelines, so you’re not holding personal data for longer than it’s required.

To permanently delete old entries:

  1. Go to the “Forms” menu in your website editor.
  2. You’ll see a list of forms.
  3. Find the form you want to download, then click on the corresponding number under the “Entries” column:
  4. Select which entries you want deleting by clicking on the checkboxes:
  5. Next, use the drop-down menu (either at the top and bottom of the page) that says “Bulk Actions” and choose “Delete“.
  6. Click the “Apply” button. Those entries will be permanently deleted (this is irreversible).

If you do not want copies of contact form entries saved in your website’s database at all (i.e. so you just receive the emails only, and do not want any trace of the messages saved on the website), please contact us and we can disable this facility. However, please be aware that if your email accounts experience any issues receiving email, you won’t have any way to see or recover messages sent to you, so consider this option carefully!
